Great music from a West Coast duo composed by brothers Mattson : Jonathan on drums and Jared on guitar, Electric Bass, Bass, fender rhodes and piano. I love their TG like vibe.
The perfect soundtrack for a ride in the famous San Francisco's streets, and the perfect pretext to steal working time to your boss by watching another cool sk8 vid. Here you'll find more about the Mattson 2.

BLUNDETTO X-CLUSIVE !
The next Ubiquity release (oct. 2009) is Tommy Guerrero, Shawn Lee and Money Mark's new project "Lord Newborn & the Magic Skulls". The dream team recorded last winter in Money mark's L.A. based studio for two weeks. The meeting resulted in a funk, jazz, prog-rock crossover, with a sunny West Coast touch. Well, actually it's more than that. Listen to the openning, a great hypnotic afro track :

BROTHERMAN SOUNDTRACK
Continuing a tradition that began with Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song, and culminated with Shaft and Superfly, Brotherman was a Blaxploitation film set to hit screens in 1975. Prior to the script being finished, the producers commissioned an original soundtrack to be performed by The Final Solution, a fledgling vocal group from Chicago's west side.

GOOD VIBES
This one's in Sonido Blundetto's Top Ten ever (that's why you'll find it in "No ID No Entry" vol I), here : Blundetto's vynil selection. The track is a perfect post Nam Emo Jazz Mood, from the simply named Lp "Good vibes" on the Atlantic label, 1970. The drummer's groove is incredibly hip hop. Because of it and its magical vibe, the tune has been sampled many times, in particular by Cypress Hill, Common, Big Pun, Organized Konfusion ....

THE LEGENDARY SKATALITES IN DUB
Sonido Blundetto presents two versions of a funky track by the legendary skatalites, recorded in the mid 70's at Lee Perry's Black Ark studio and mixed at King Tubby's four track studio in Dromily Avenue, Jamaïca. Former Skatalites Mc Cook and his band are joined by drummer Benbow Creary, Augustus Pablo on keys, and Earl "Chinna" Smith on guitar, whose sharp funky style is particulary well represented on the two following tracks ...
